#196 Is Breakfast the most important meal of the day?

 This week we are talking about breakfast.

Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?

I believe in breakfast, it is almost my favourite meal of the day (I’ve been cooking some pretty cool dinners lately!)

Here are my 5 reasons to eat a great breakfast.

 

  1. Weight Loss. Breakfast kickstarts your metabolism and encourages your body to burn body fat as fuel. You burn food for energy more effectively in the morning than at night. Eating a protein and fibre-rich breakfast keeps you feeling fuller throughout the day
  2. Energy. Eating a high protein, high fibre breakfast helps prevent the mid-afternoon slump and helps to keep your blood sugars stable throughout the day.
  3. Mood. A protein-rich breakfast increases serotonin production.
  4. Positive ageing. Eating breakfast helps prevent muscle loss as we age.
  5. Blood sugar control. Eat a larger breakfast and a smaller dinner for b/s control. Our bodies are more sensitive to insulin in the morning.
