#196 Is Breakfast the most important meal of the day?
This week we are talking about breakfast.
Is breakfast the most important meal of the day?
I believe in breakfast, it is almost my favourite meal of the day (I’ve been cooking some pretty cool dinners lately!)
Here are my 5 reasons to eat a great breakfast.
- Weight Loss. Breakfast kickstarts your metabolism and encourages your body to burn body fat as fuel. You burn food for energy more effectively in the morning than at night. Eating a protein and fibre-rich breakfast keeps you feeling fuller throughout the day
- Energy. Eating a high protein, high fibre breakfast helps prevent the mid-afternoon slump and helps to keep your blood sugars stable throughout the day.
- Mood. A protein-rich breakfast increases serotonin production.
- Positive ageing. Eating breakfast helps prevent muscle loss as we age.
- Blood sugar control. Eat a larger breakfast and a smaller dinner for b/s control. Our bodies are more sensitive to insulin in the morning.
