At Outlook for Life, we teach midlife women how to make great food choices for health, weight loss, and longevity.
We use nutrition, movement and mindset to achieve amazing transformations.
This is me on the left in my early fifties.
I was a marathon running nutritionist but as you can see middle-age spread was setting in fast.
This is also me on the right at 60. I am leaner, happier and healthier than I had ever been.
I banished middle-aged spread without giving up wine and chocolate!
I love food! I eat lots of food, but it is the right food for me at this age and stage of life (I am lucky enough to be 67 this year!)
I move my body to stay strong and active. I no longer thrash myself in the gym or do hours of cardio.
I have helped thousands of women in regain their health and self-confidence.
My Training
I am originally from England.
I started out riding horses professionally and teaching riding. I met my husband, a kiwi and moved to New Zealand with our son in 1992.
“From my late teens onwards, I suffered from a terrible lack of self-esteem and had real body image problems that led me to bulimia and compulsive eating disorder."
When I was riding horses for a living, I was reasonably fit but still really unhappy in my body.
I was always on a diet, I knew the calories of every food, but I was still totally out of control and bingeing. At one point, my disordered eating was so bad that I became clinically depressed and struggled to leave the house.
I was over 90kg, that's 198 lbs or 14 stone. I have a small frame, it was not pretty!
Riding horses is tough on your body, and two back surgeries put paid to my aspirations as a horse rider. During my post surgery rehabilitation, I worked with a fantastic personal trainer and a nutritionist and between them, they turned my life around, forever.
I really believed that I was beyond help.
I wanted to help other women turn their lives around, too. I felt that if I could get better then anyone could.
And so Outlook for Life was born.
I became a Personal Trainer in 2001 and soon realised that I needed a Nutrition qualification too. I also became a Certified Life Coach.
I have been working in the industry ever since. My passion has been to help midlife women lose weight, regain their health, and live their best lives. At Outlook for Life, we have helped thousands of women rediscover their health and confidence.
I have written for national magazines and been featured on the radio, and I have also worked with big corporations on their wellness programs.
But, over time, I realised that I wanted to focus on women who were struggling with their weight and health, and going through peri menopause, menopause, and post menopause. And that is now the sole direction of our online programs.
At Outlook for Life, our mission is to help women live their happiest, healthiest, and longest lives, in a body that is lean, powerful, and strong.

You see, I get it. I have been frumpy and overweight. I know how it feels when none of your clothes fit. When you dress to cover up not to look good. When you are lethargic and unhappy and you no longer seem able to lose weight, however hard you try. I know that what used to work doesn't anymore, and you jump from one failed diet to another. One failed exercise regime to another.
I know how it feels to be overwhelmed, frustrated, and tired of failing. Tired of the ever-growing spare tyre around your waist. I know because I have been there.
